IPL 2019: Sourav Ganguly Or Ricky Ponting? Prithvi Shaw Avoids The Question In A Smart Way
Well, Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly have been the two eyes for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2019. The players of the team, are making most of the opportunity by learning from the greatest brains of the game. In between, Prithvi Shaw was asked to pick one between them.
During the course of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, the commentators, who are on the mic with Prithvi Shaw asked him to pick one between Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting.
The question kept Shaw in a bit of uncomfortable space, as both the legendary players have a massive impact on Delhi Capitals. However, the young Prithvi Shaw dodged the question by saying that the signal wasn’t that clear to answer. However, after a few seconds, he termed that both are brilliant in their own styles.
‘I can’t hear you. There seem to be some problem with the connection.”
As it happened:
Getting into the details of the match, initially, it was Shreyas Iyer, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. They got a brilliant start, as they got the young Sanju Samson for a golden duck. In fact, Samsom hasn’t faced a single delivery, as he was dismissed in the run-out fashion. Rabada was brilliant in hitting the bull-eye.
However, Ajinkya Rahane took the onus on his shoulders to give a quick start for the team. He looked in a different nick tonight, where he smashed Delhi bowlers to all corners of the park. Rahane, who was lucky in getting dropped in the hand of Ishant, used the chance to perfection.
He bagged yet another century to his name before stitching a fantastic 130-run partnership for the second wicket. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane continued his good show at the other end, to smash a brilliant century in just 58 balls.
In reply to the chase, Shikhar Dhawan gave a splendid start for Delhi Capitals. He never rested his feet in the middle, as he smashed Rajasthan bowlers more often than not. Though Prithvi Shaw found it tough to handle things, Dhawan showed his class and experience in the middle by taking his chances.
He scored 27 balls 54 runs to give a good start for the team. It was carried by the young Rishabh Pant alongside Prithvi Shaw and Rutherford to make things fall in place for Delhi.
