Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 48th Match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Shiekh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Notably, both the teams have faced defeat in their last fixture.
Against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Mumbai Indians had set up a mammoth target of 196 runs but failed to defend the total with Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes ruining MI’s plan. However, the defeat has not affected them much because they are still the toppers in the points table.
But against RCB, Mumbai Indians will look to take revenge for their defeat in the first meeting when the game went to super overs. Here, let’s take a look at MI’s playing XI for the fixture.

Quinton de Kock:
Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper-batsman, was out after scoring just six runs. He will look to play big knock against RCB to take revenge for their defeat.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma took rest in the last match because he had suffered from a hamstring injury while Kieron Pollard was handed captaincy. He will return to the team and will be pumped to play a big knock.

3. Suryakumar Yadav:
Batting at number three position, Suryakumar has gathered 283 runs in 11 matches at the healthy strike rate of 148.94. Whenever openers have lost their wickets early, the youngster has built partnerships. He will look to get good scores on board for Mumbai Indians.
4. Ishan Kishan:
Although CSK had given undaunting 114 runs target, Ishan Kishan instead of playing a slow and composed innings went harsh on bowlers. He toyed them and scored 68 off 37 balls, striking six fours and five sixes to finish the game in thirteen overs.
In the last match against Rajasthan Royals, he played as the opener, but as Rohit Sharma will return, he will bat at his usual position.
5. Hardik Pandya:
Hardik Pandya went berserk against Rajasthan Royals after Mumbai Indians lost five wickets. He smacked 60 runs off 21 balls, striking seven sixes and two fours. Although his contribution helped MI to set above par target of 196 runs, they could not defend it.
But Hardik Pandya will look to maintain the momentum against RCB.
6. Kieron Pollard:
Kieron Pollard is one of the biggest pillars of Mumbai Indians. Against KXIP, after the early fall of the top-order, he took the team to a fighting total of 176 runs after scoring 34* runs off 12 balls. He is always a big trouble for bowlers. He had also captained the side in last two matches, leading them to victory in one match against CSK.
7. Krunal Pandya:
The spin bowling allrounder Krunal Pandya has contributed significantly with both bat and ball in all the matches.
Against SRH, he scored 20 runs off just four balls, striking two boundaries and two sixes, while also with the ball, he picked one wicket. He is an integral part of the team and will be expected to produce similar spells for Mumbai Indians in the coming matches.
8. Rahul Chahar:
Rahul Chahar is the only in and out spinner that is playing for Mumbai Indians this season. He has given valuable contribution picking wickets of Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu and another crucial batsman to give a breakthrough to the team. But in the last match against RR, he proved expensive. He will look to bounce back stronger against RBC. Overall, he has picked up 13 wickets in 11 matches.
9. Trent Boult:
Playing maiden season for Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult has become a crucial part of the team. With the new ball, he has produced magical spells to give a good start to the team.
After he could not contribute in MI’s win against KXIP, he demolished CSK’s top-order to restrict them to 114 runs. But in the last match, he leaked 40 runs in his four-over while went wicketless. The speedster will make it count against RCB.
10. James Pattinson:
James Pattinson is the replacement of Lasith Malinga in the Mumbai Indians squad. Having a huge responsibility to fill up the space of Malinga, Pattinson has performed exceptionally in seven matches.
In the last match against RR, he was the only one who picked two wickets and rest of the bowlers went wicketless.
11. Jasprit Bumrah:
The World-Class bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the trump card of Rohit Sharma. But against RR, he could not give a breakthrough to the team although he was economical in comparison to other bowlers.
