IPL 7: KKR beat RCB by 2 runs in one of the best IPL match

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 2 runs in a thriller as it turned out to be one of the best IPL matches ever.

Chriss Lynn took the catch if the tournament on the boundary to dismiss AB de Villiers in what turned out to be a turning point of this match.

For RCB Yogesh Takawale was the top scorer with 40 runs, while Vinay Kumar took two wickets for KKR to become their best bowler on the night.

Kolkata Knight Riders, after being invited to bat, scrapped their way to a total of 150/7 in their 20 allotted overs at Sharjah on Thursday.

For KKR, Chris Lynn top scored with an impressive 45 off just 31 balls, while Jacques Kallis was at his usual self scoring 43 at just over run-a-ball.

For RCB, Varun Aaron was the pick of the bowler returning with figures of 4/16 in his four overs. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc picked up two wickets, with Albie Morkel and Yazuvendra Chahal picking up a wicket each.

Earlier, RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field, backing his batsmen to do a job later in the night and also playing to their strength – chasing.

On to the team news now, where the wait prolonged for RCB’s power hitter Chris Gayle, who missed out once again due to a back problem. His absence opened up a spot for 42-year-old spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, who got his first game of the season replacing Australia opener Nic Maddinson who failed in his previous two outings for the franchisee. That change leaves Royal Challengers Bangalore light on batting front, which they tried to correct by getting in wicketkeeper-batsman Yogesh Takawale into the side.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders also made a couple of changes to the team which got defeated in their previous outing by Delhi Daredevils, as exciting Australia talent Chris Lynn comes in for allrounder Shakib Al Hasan, and they went for the pace of Umesh Yadav in place of legspinner Piyush Chawla.
