New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has revealed his pick on the fastest bowler, out of the many quicks he has faced in his career. Sunrisers Hyderabad star Kane Williamson reached UAE last week from New Zealand to join his squad and is still in quarantine.

In 2018 SRH reached the final under Kane Williamson’s captaincy, however, an injury to him in 2019 forced him to the sidelines and the captaincy was taken over by vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He was also the orange cap winner in 2018 scoring a mammoth 735 runs for the SRH. Australian opener David Warner was named as the captain of SRH for IPL 2020.

Kane Williamson names the quickest of them all

SRH star batsman Williamson is in quarantine and decided on doing a Q&A session on his SRH’s twitter handle. He answered questions from fans on his professional and personal life as well. One fan asked him who was the fastest bowler he has faced in his career. The New Zealand skipper has faced a number of pacers in his extensive career, but he picked South African speedster Dale Steyn. He also recalled the incident against the bowler which left him with a broken box.

“It’s hard to tell. There is a lot of quick bowlers around. But I do remember a number of years ago facing Dale Steyn and he broke my box. So, that was a memorable experience.”

In a test series in 2013, New Zealand played South Africa and Williamson recalls the incident from that match. He was facing Steyn, and one of his quick deliveries went to hit Williamson’s Abdominal guard, which left him in pain. The abdominal guard was cracked by the impact and later Steyn signed it, which Kane keeps as a memento.
