Former English pacer Tim Bresnan has made a shocking claim stating that he received death threats after dismissing Indian legend, Sachin Tendulkar in the 2011 Test. Sachin Tendulkar has been one of the most unfortunate batsmen when it comes to scoring centuries as he has been dismissed the most number of times in the nervous 90s.

Even after that, Tendulkar went to score 100 international centuries, a record that was unimaginable and it still is, for every batsman playing international cricket. However, it took almost one year for Tendulkar to go to his 100th century from his 99th century. Sachin’s 99th came against South Africa in the 2011 world cup, while he scored his 100th century against Bangladesh in 2012.

When he was on the road to his 100th international century, he came extremely close to scoring it against England in the fourth Test in 2011 at the Oval when he was dismissed on 91 in the second innings by Tim Bresnan.

Tim Bresnan Shares His Horrific Experience After Dismissing Sachin Tendulkar

Tim Bresnan has now gone on to reveal that he received death threats after dismissing Sachin Tendulkar in that game. Sachin Tendulkar was adjudged LBW by Rod Tucker, and he also received death threats, claimed Tim Bresnan.

“This ball, it was probably missing leg anyway, and umpire Hill (Tucker), Aussie lad, shot him out. He was on 80-odd as well [91], definitely going to get it (his century). We win the series and go to number one in the world,” Tim Bresnan said on the ‘Yorkshire Cricket: Covers Off’ podcast.

“We both got death threats, me and this umpire, we got death threats for ages after. I got them on Twitter and he had people writing to him to his home address and stuff, getting proper death threats going, ‘How dare you give him out? It was missing leg’.” According to Bresnan, Tucker had to step up his security due to the death threats.

Sachin Tendulkar Is None Short Of A God For Indians

Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as the ‘God of Cricket.’ He has set almost every batting record in world cricket and smashed a whole lot of them during his stint on the 22-yard. Having scored more than 34000 international runs with a ton of international centuries, the Master Blaster of cricket set certain exemplary records during his career.

Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in Tests, with 15,921 runs, as well as in One-Day Internationals, with 18,426 runs. He is the only player to score more than 30,000 runs in all forms of international cricket. He also holds the record of the highest number of centuries in both Tests (51) and ODIs (49) as well as in Tests and ODIs combined (100).

Tendulkar has worked wonders for the India National Cricket Team during his 24-year long stint and even after his retirement, there is almost no one who can come close to what Sachin Tendulkar achieved over the years. His dominance and charisma had the power to hold the entire nation when he walked into bat. Therefore, there can be no other Sachin Tendulkar in world cricket.
