West Indies bat first as India recalls Vijay and Pujara
Implementing the advice of the pitch curator Ronald Faria, the West Indies skipper Jason Holder after winning the toss decided to bat first regardless of the condition of the pitch and the ground. It was also the third consecutive time in the series that Holder won the toss.
The West Indies team decided to give Alzarri Joseph a break who made his debut in the last game. Leg spinner Devendra Bishoo who was dropped in the last game makes his comeback on a spinner friendly pitch. For India Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay made their comebacks. The poor form of Shikhar Dhawan was the reason why he was dropped from the squad. Jadeja was too left out as captain Virat Kohli needed an extra batsman in the team.
It’s mandatory for the Indian team to win this Test match so as to continue to sit on the No. 1 throne in the future. Even a draw will not work for the team, so a win here is needed at any cost.
