Arsene Wenger is preparing a huge £42m bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick- Aubameyang.

An intermediary is now reportedly talking to the Bundesliga outfit on behalf of Arsenal. Aubameyang has netted 24 goals in 23 matches this season and recently informed his close friends that he wishes to play in the Premier League.

According to The Sun, a source close to them said: “An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick making a move to Arsenal.Wenger knows the fee is very high — yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him and help win the title for the first time in 12 years. But there is a lot of interest in him.”

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the 26-yearold Gabon international, but reports now suggest Arsenal have the money to meet Borussia Dortmund’s valuation this January and are supposedly in a strong bargaining position because of the intermediary’s strong influence.

Aubameyang is capable of playing wide or up front and will be a valuable asset for the Gunners in the second half of the season and would add firepower to their injury struck line-up. He also has unique celebrations after scoring and dons batman and spider-man masks while celebrating which would bring more entertainment in EPL. The prolific striker’s current contract with Dortmund doesn’t end until 2020, but Wenger is desperate to bid for him this month.

Dortmund however have little chance in holding onto him, considering the fact Aubameyang has been scoring consistently and is one of the deadliest strikers in Europe as of now. He was a finalist for BBC African Footballer of the Year, who would bring the required pace Arsenal needs to keep some pressure of Giroud in the absence of injured Alexis Sanchez.

Not only Aubameyang, Arsenal are ready to make a move for Insigne also as the agent of this Napoli forward claims Wenger is interested on his client.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are also in race for the 24-year-old Italian attacker, according to his agent Antonio Ottaiano.

He said: “PSG and Arsenal are clubs at the top of the world and their interest is gratifying but right now Lorenzo is only thinking about Napoli.

“A great season is also key to reaching his other aim for this year — securing a place for the Euros with Italy.”
