Feyenoord clinch Dutch Cup after beating AZ Alkmaar 3-0

Rotterdam, April 23: Feyenoord Rotterdam have captured the Dutch Cup after beating AZ Alkmaar 3-0 here in the 100th final of the football tournament.

Nicolai Jorgensen on Sunday put Feyenoord ahead in the 28th minute, when he converted the rebound from a Steven Berghuis header, reports Xinhua news agency.

Robin van Persie scored with a beautiful chip shot in the 57th minute and Jens Toornstra made it 3-0 in stoppage time.

It is Feyenoord’s 13th triumph in the Dutch Cup.

It is the first trophy in the Netherlands for the 34-year-old Van Persie, who returned to Feyenoord in January after almost 14 years abroad.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst captured his fourth trophy in three seasons as the coach of Feyenoord, after winning the Dutch Cup in 2016 and the Eredivisie and the Dutch Super Cup in 2017.
