Uruguay skipper Diego Godin scored in the second half to send Italy back home, but it was Luis Suarez who made the headlines once again.

Uruguay are through to the knock out stages after a 1-0 win over 10-man Italy. Italy just needed a draw to make it to the knock out stages, dominated majority of the game but Claudio Marchisio was sent off for a horrendous tackle and Diego Godin scored from the corner to win the game for Uruguay.

Mario Balotelli was subbed at half-time due to an injury and was replaced by Marco Parolo. Suarez and Chiellini clashed in the 79th minute of the game, television replays showed Suarez has headbutted the Italy defender before going downere Chiellini then accused him of biting his shoulder. The referee didn’t see anything, Chiellini kept showing him bite marks but the referee refused to take any actions.

This is the third time Suarez has bitten an opponent. The Liverpool star striker bit Chelsea‘s Branislav Ivanovic last year and PSV’s Otman Bakkal back in 2010. Suarez was banned for ten games for biting Ivanovic. Just few days back, Suarez was praised for his brace against England and his passion for the game. The 27-year-old has another controversy to deal with which will once again overshadow his beautiful talent. Suarez has no one to blame but himself, his desire and hunger to win games should not lead him to biting players.
