Peter Whittingham cancelled out Curtis Davies’ opener to hand Cardiff a crucial away point in a 1-1 draw against Hull at the KC Stadium.
Tigers started on the fron-foot when Former Swansea striker Danny Graham missed a sitter in the early stages as he followed up on Sone Aluko’s header that was pushed out. Graham put the ball wide from just three-yards to disbelief of home crowd.
Cardiff’s Frazer Campbell too had an opportunity to put his side in the lead but his shot went wide of the targert.
Aluko was next to try his luck for homeside, shooting high into the side netting after a very good run which opened up a goal scoring oppurtunity.
Hull’s pressure eventually paid off when Curtis Davies put home side ahead just before half-time. The defender was perfectly picked out by Tom Huddlestone and he headed in from three-yards out unlike his teammate.
Steve Bruce’s men controlled the second half and tested Lewis on numerous ocassions, with Aluko starring in attack for Hull, only for Cardiff to equalise and deliver the sucker punch.
On 59 minutes, against the run of play, Whittingham scored the goal as he was left unmarked in the box and volleyed home a cross from the right hand side to earn the Bluebirds a point, which manager Malky Mackay would probably have settled for before the match.
