Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote is all set with his plan of buying Arsenal football club. Dangote is hardcore Arsenal fan and did try to buy the club back in 2010 but could not negotiate a price with the owners.

Dangote was speaking with Bloomberg where he confirmed his interest of buying the club. Dangote’s worth currently stands at $15.7billion (£10.38bn) which is way beyond Arsneal’s valued price of £988million.

Dangote wants to buy at the right price, a price which the owners cannot resist, Dangote said:

“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team,”

“I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy.”

Aliko Dangote’s intent of buying a majority stake in Arsenal football club has been growing since 2010 and if he does manage to buy out the club, it might not be the best news for current Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger.

Aliko Dangote has previously said that he does not see Wenger’s philosophy to be working at the moment and club needs a new path to succeed and “Wenger needs to change his style a bit“.

It is to be seen if Aliko Dangote goes ahead with the plans of buying Arsenal next season or he stretches his desires for a bit longer.
