Top 5 emerging players of HIL 2015 (Indian)

The Hockey India League was a great platform for the Indian youngsters to showcase their talent to the World. Indian youngsters played with players who have played for their countries in international tournaments and got to learn a lot from them.

Here we look at the Top 5 emerging players from India in HIL 2015 who can be future hope of India.

  1. Harmanpreet Singh

Harmanpreet Singh is one of finest Indian youngsters played for Dabang Mumbai. Despite his team finishing last in the tournament he scored 5 goals from penalty corners. He was a part of the team who won the Johor Baru Cup in 2014. In the Hockey India League 2015 he was announced the emerging player of the tournament. He played with the likes of Glenn Turner, Arjun Halappa and could be one of the options for Penalty corner drag flickers in near future.

  1. Parvinder Singh

Parvinder Singh is another Indian youngster who played for Ranchi Rays – the winner of the trophy in the tournament. He is a forward player. Though he scored only 1 goal in this tournament, he was impressive with his skills of feeding the ball. He was also a part part of winning team which won the Johor Baru Cup in 2014. He can become another player who could come in national team.

  1. Varun Kumar

Varun Kumar another youngster who played for Jaypee Punjab Warriors. The team swept into finals of tournament but had to contend as runners up finally. He also scored only 1 goal for Punjab from a penalty corner. He was also a member of the team which won the Sultan Johor Baru Cup in 2014. He was part of the team and rubbed shoulders with Sandeep Singh, Jamie Dwayer and Cirello of Australia and showed his potential.

  1. Satbir Singh

Santa Singh, another promising Indian player who played for Jaypee Punjab Warriors in the tournament.  He was the forward for Jaypee Punjab Warriors. He was also a part of the team which won the Sultan Johor baru Cup in 2014.He played with the like Jamie Dwyer, Cirello and Sandeep Singh. He scored 1 goal in the tournament.

  1.  Harjeet Singh

Harjeet Singh played for Uttar Pradesh Wizards who finished fourth in the tournament. He scored 1 field goal in the tournament. He is the captain of the Indian Junior team. He was the captain of the team who won the Sultan Johor Baru Cup 2014. He got the exposure by playing with VR Ragunath, P Sreejesh and other experienced international players. He is a midfielder for the Indian team.
