The government on Tuesday released the names of all athletes under six disciplines and their amount it will spend on their training for the preparation for 2016 Rio Olympics. The total amount would be 30.075 Crore of which 96. 80 have been released so far.

Six shuttlers who have been named are Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, P Kashyap, K Srikanth, Guru Sai Dutt and HS Prannoy. The minister said that the category would be recent performance, consistency, and performance. There are 45 athletes who have been selected by the government for finical assistance under the target Olympic Podium.

There are five athletes who have been sanctioned an amount of 1 Crore and 12.5 Lakhs. They are Vikas Gowda(athletics), Abhinav Bindra, Gagang Narang, Sanjeev Rajput and Manavjit Sandhu(Shooting)

Top wrestlers like Sushil Kumar,  Yogeshwar Dutt, Amit Kumar will get RS 75 lakhs each while Bajrang, Rahul Aware, Vignesh Phogat and Babita Kumari will get RS 45 Lakhs each.

Two sailors- Varsha and Aishwarya will also get 45 Lakhs each.

Four top boxers- MC Mary Kom(51Kg), Vijender Singh(75KG), Sarita Devi and L Devandro will get RS 75 lakhs each while Pinki Jhangra(51 KG), Shiva Thapa(56KG), Mandeep Jhangra(69KG) and Vikas Krishnan will get RS 45 Lakhs each.

Women discus thrower Seema Antil will get RS 75 Lakhs, Triple Jumper Arpinder Singh, 20 KM race walker Khusbir Kaur and KT Irfan will get 45 RS Lakhs each.

So all these Indian athletes getting money to prepare for Rio Olympics is a big boost for these athletes. The Olympics which is more than 1 year away it will be nice that these top athletes can plan and get medals at the biggest stage of all.
