Indian Archery Teams win Bronze Medal in World Championships

Indian archery contingent won a solitary Bronze medal in men’s compound team event at the Archery World cup stage 4 in Medellin, Colombia. Similarly Indian double trap team that missed bagging quota for Rio Olympics t won the Bronze medal at the ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Lonato Italy last Sunday 13 September 2015

The Indian trio of Sarvesh Pareek, Sandeep Kumar and Isaiah Rajender Sanam seeded sixth beat Venezuelan team 231-222 in the play-off for the third and fourth position. It was a one-sided match. In the compound mixed pair event, Indian Pareek and Trisha Deb lost to top-ranked, USA’s Reo Wilde and Lexi Keller 150-156.

The trio of Mohammed Asab, Ankur Mittal and Sangram Dahiya shot a combined score of 400 to win over host Italian team who scored 398 for the bronze medal in the ISSF shotgun World Championship. Great Britain team won the Gold with a score of 414 and Russia claimed Silver with 406 points.

Asab was the best-placed Indian at 12th position in individual event with a score of 135. Mittal finished sixth with a score of 134 and Dahiya scored 131 to finish 23rd.
