Usain Bolt won his third Gold medal at the IAAF World Championships at Beijing as he led his Jamaican 4×100 metre relay team to triumph in the Finals. The Jamaican sprint relay team of Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell, Nickel Ashmeade and Bolt clocked in 37.36 seconds, with a United States team that had Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay finished second but was stripped off their title after Gay passed on the baton to Mike Rodgers in the final set.
As a result of this, China, who initially finished third got the silver and the Bronze was won by Canada. Great Britain, who were in contention for a medal missed out in the last 100 metres after they failed to finish the race.
Earlier in the Championships, Bolt won the 100 and 200 meter finals, beating Justin Gatlin in both sprints, and added the relay victory on Saturday to successfully defend all three world titles he won in Moscow in 2013.
