We have not seen Jinder Mahal on WWE programming for months now. He has been out of action because of a ‘patellar tendon rupture’ which required surgery to get healed. The injury occurred during a live event in June that sent him out of action for an indefinite span of time. With 2020 kicking off, we can now expect him to make a comeback as seen on social media.
Jinder Mahal took his official Instagram-handle to let us knew that he is getting back in shape to make the in-ring return. The video posted by him had a ‘be back soon’ caption accompanying it indicating that we can soon expect him on WWE TV. Further information regarding his return is not available, as of now.
The former WWE Champion was drafted to Monday Night Raw during the Draft took place, three months ago. Before getting drafted to the flagship show, he was involved in lackluster feuds with R-Truth over the 24/7 Championship.
He was able to capture the title twice in June 2019 after which the injury forced him to get sidelined. The Singh Brothers are all by themselves on Raw programming, since then without their mentor.
Before leaving due to injury, Jinder Mahal has reportedly signed a new contract with the WWE. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling sheet reported that he has signed this new deal that is said to be for 5 years.
Due to AEWs rise in recent times, WWE has been offering long term deals to keep the talents under their contract. So The Modern-Day Maharaja joined the likes of Mojo Rawley, Mike Kanellis, and Maria Kanellis to get their tenure extended with the company.
Jinder Mahal rose to the occasion in 2017 by becoming the WWE Champion, all of a sudden. Coming back to the company in 2016, he worked hard to get a better physique and a big consecutive push.
He defeated Randy Orton at Backlash in May 2017 to become the 50th WWE Champion in history. The title reign lasted till November of that year. Later, he went on to win the United States title at WrestleMania 34.
