WWE News: WWE Has Big Plans For Finn Balor At Wrestlemania 35
Finn Balor had to drop the Intercontinental Championship to Bobby Lashley on the Raw following the Fastlane PPV. He was one of the two champs from Monday Night Raw who did not put his title on the line at the pay-per-view itself. So the Dominator earned the opportunity one night later and capitalized.
The match ended with a shocking outcome where we crowned a new Intercontinental Champion in Bobby Lashley. There was nothing much spoiler available on this sudden title switch. It could alter the course for Wrestlemania 35 with a massive change in lineups. One of the main events might come up with different a lineup.
As reported by WrestleVotes, there could be ‘big plans’ in-store for the first-ever Universal Champion, at WrestleMania 35. The creative team does not want him to stick around the mid-card title picture. Rather this title drop can send him straight into the main event picture on Monday Night Raw.
We should note that Finn Balor was part of a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34. He and Seth Rollins challenged the Miz for the belt. The latter ended up winning the title in becoming a grand slam winner in the WWE. Apparently, the officials do not want him to stay in the same position, this time around,
“Chatting w/ a source this morning. One notable quote: “I’m figuring they took the IC off of Finn for a reason, I think they have something for him at Mania”
The source surprisingly hinted that Finn Balor might just end up getting included into the Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania 35. There’s no further update on it. But the prime title matchup could see a big change when the next edition of Raw airs from Chicago.
This would be a much similar story to the Raw women’s championship scene. Vince McMahon added Charlotte Flair into the mix to make it a triple threat affair keeping in mind that Ronda Rousey is leaving after Wrestlemania 35. This triple threat ensures that the championship program would not miss a beat even once she is absent.
Same can happen around the Universal Title picture since Brock Lesnar will also be absent after Wrestlemania 35. So Rollins and Finn Balor could take the storyline forward on the flagship show. This would not allow starting the championship storyline from a scratch. At present, these are just rumors that commenced following the Intercontinental Championship loss.
