India is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janerio in Brazil from 5 to 21 August 2016. India is sending its largest ever contingent for the Rio Olympics this year with several medal prospects in its ranks. For the first time ever, India will be sending a more than 100-sportsperson strong contingent to an Olympics. As usual, the medal hopes are in shooting, wrestling, boxing, archery and, well, men’s hockey.

India are eyeing 10 medals at the Rio Olympics. Their biggest contingent ever has a fair blend of experience and youth and some of these debutants could really spring some surprises in Brazil. Here we see five debutant sportspersons who can make India proud.
