Rogers Cup: Novak Djokovic through to third round, Ivo Karlovic upsets home favourite Milos Raonic

Praveen / 12 August 2015

Rogers Cup is underway and day two featured world no.1 Novak Djokovic in action. The other top seeds who featured in the day two are Grigor Dimitrov, Kevin Anderson, Milos Raonic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

After his Wimbledon triumph this is the first tourney where the world no.1 appeared and continued his supreme reign of form and was off to an excellent start in his second round encounter against the Brazilian Thomaz Belluci. It wasn’t a perfect start for the world no.1 but certainly a good start to kick off his campaign. The Serbian defeated the Brazilian in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(4). Novak Djokovic maintained a decent first serve percentage of 63 compared to Belluci’s 71%. Novak Djokovic converted just one of his seven break points whereas Belluci failed to convert one. However, the Brazilian showed good resistance in the second set but wasn’t enough against the world no.1
