It is almost certain that AJ Styles will be facing Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33 and fans are certainly not happy with this booking. After all he did last year, after becoming WWE’s superstar of the year, is that all he deserved? Just a match with Shane McMahon? So what would have been the possible other matches if Shane McMahon was not the opponent for AJ Styles at WrestleMania?

Here we list down 5 better WrestleMania opponents for AJ Styles keeping Shane McMahon out of mind;

  1. AJ Styles vs. Luke Harper –We saw AJ Styles and Luke Harper both got eliminated simultaneously in the battle royal a couple of weeks ago on Smackdown and after the match, Luke nailed AJ with a Clothesline, and the very next week AJ Styles beat Luke Harper twice. It might be a beginning of a new feud between the two. They both might get kept out of the title frame to make it a simple Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton match.
  2. AJ Styles vs. Bray Wyatt – WWE Championship – Luke Harper – Randy Orton feud never had a clean end. What if we see a continuation of that feud at WrestleMania? Orton himself told that he will not battle Bray Wyatt, we are predicting that he will get involved in the title frame somehow, but what if he doesn’t get involved? What if he continues his unfinished feud with Luke Harper? AJ Styles would be the only superstar left in the title frame then.
  3. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton – Even though Randy Orton will now face Bray Wyatt for the WWE title at WrestleMania but we have to bring all the possibilities in mind. We know it is very unlikely but there is a slight possibility too. Plus, AJ Styles and Randy Orton were scheduled to have a feud earlier. What if they get to start their feud at WrestleMania? Would be excellent of course, however, the title picture would not seem interesting if it happens.
  4. AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler – A feud that could have saved Dolph Ziggler’s career, a feud that might not give AJ Styles the actual boost he deserves, but the much awaited face turn and better opportunities for future. Plus, it could have been an excellent match, two high flying fan favorites going head to head at the ‘grandest stage of them all’ would have been amazing!
  5. AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels – The match was teased by WWE for the Royal Rumble as you can see photo coverage of this article. Fans were really going crazy by thinking a real possibility, however, this never happened. But you can never say never. Shawn Michaels might just come back from retirement for one more match and a match between these icons would have been simply awesome and the best the fans could get.
