Former WWE star and a former four times WWE World Champion Alberto Del Rio who is also a former two times WWE United States champion recently talked about a possible return to WWE and if WWE made any contact with him recently.
Alberto Del Rio joined WWE back in 2009 after having a wonderful career outside of the promotion. He worked in various independent promotions from all over the world and one a lot of Championship golds. WWE had really big plans for him upon signing him.
Alberto Del Rio Reflects On A Possible Return To WWE
After working on the development Territory of WWE for a couple of years he joined the main roster in mid 2010. From the very first day of joining WWE he was being portrayed as a big thing. His earliest and biggest success in WWE was winning the Royal Rumble match of 2011, it was also the only WWE match in the history to hold 40 men.
He has mostly been presented as a main event star as he won the WWE World Championship four times in total. In 2014 he was released from the promotion and he returned to the independent circuit. She had a short return in WWE in 2015 which lasted for only one year. After his departure from the promotion in 2016 he never returned to WWE, however, there are rumours of him returning to the promotion soon.
Alberto Del Rio who is also a former two times WWE United States champion recently spoke to The Wrassingh Show where he talked about a possible return to WWE and if WWE made any contact with him recently. He said;
“Not at the moment. There was at the beginning of this year, there were some approaches but they didn’t come from Hunter. Since this new administration is in charge of the WWE, I haven’t talked to any of them, I don’t know if I will, I hope I do.
“But I think and many, many people, millions of people agree that I should be doing one last thing with this company but that is not in my hands. That’s not up to me. But we’ll see, time will tell.
“These days we have people talking or hating just because they can, that’s how social media is, everybody can go there and say stuff even though sometimes or most of the time, those things are not even real but you know, that’s the way it is these days.
“So I’m not, if I go back or not go back, that doesn’t matter. I’m gonna continue producing, doing something different with my company, I’m gonna working for a few other companies that I am working for as a commentator, as an announcer. I’m gonna continue doing business in many other companies.”
