After going back and forth for almost a year, the rivalry between Edge and Finn Balor is culminating at Wrestlemania 39 via a singles contest. But to add up to the stakes, this match has now been confirmed to take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure, possibly to stop interferences from Balor’s cohorts, Judgment Day members.
After calling out Finn Balor, last week, Edge didn’t waste any time as he opened the latest episode of Raw from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. The Rated-R Superstar took to the ring to invite Balor to the ring. After a promo exchange, he accepted Balor’s WrestleMania 39 challenge but with one added stipulation, that’s the match will take place in Hell in a Cell.

In response, Finn Balor had not only accepted but also possibly hinted at bringing back “The Demon” gimmick but that’s yet to be confirmed,
“Edge I’ve been to hell before, and it spit me out, because hell couldn’t handle my demons. I’ll see you at WrestleMania.”
Wrestlemania 39: Two Top WWE Superstars Possibly Missing April PLE
The match was thereafter officially announced for Wrestlemania 39 which should mark the end of the long-standing feud between Balor and Edge, a feud that started all the way back in June. The WWE Hall of Famer was ousted from his own stable by Balor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley.
Moving on, Edge has defeated every male superstar of Judgment including the latest addition Dominik Mysterio but Balor made him say “I Quit” at Extreme Rules last October since Ripley threatened to hit Beth Phoenix with a Con-Chair-To and eventually did so.
Then Edge returned on the Road to Wrestlemania 39 at Royal Rumble 2023 and eliminated Balor and Priest from the Men’s Rumble match. The heel duo then ganged up to eliminate Edge from the Rumble match to reignite the feud and produce a mixed-tag team match where Balor and Ripley came up short to the team of the 11-time world champion and his wife, Beth Phoenix. Two nights later on Raw, Balor interfered in Edge’s match against Austin Theory and cost him a chance to win the United States Championship in his home country of Canada.
