The Bangladesh cricket team who knocked England out of the Cricket World Cup 2015 also humiliated Pakistan in their home ground and the cricket board had some more good news for the cricket fans in the nation.
The Bangladesh cricket board has got a new sponsor for its players. Top of Mind, the media planning agency that was the sponsor of the team for two years, have reportedly sold it to the Robi Axiata Ltd. who will be in the role for the first time said the marketing committee chief Kazi Inam.
Grameenphone who also bid for Bangladesh sponsorship lost out to Top of Mind in the final tender to a bid of 414.1 million taka. Before this, the Indian based company Sahara was the sponsors of the team for eight years and with a value of 14 million dollar four year deal. Aamby Valley an affiliate of the Sahara Ltd’ closed the deal with BCB 15 months before the end of the initial contract. After this, the Board sold the rights to Top of Mind for the Pakistan series. However the value of the deal was not disclosed.
India will tour Bangladesh for a Test and three ODIs from June 10 to 24. The one-off Test at Fatullah’s Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium will begin on June 10 .The day-night ODIs will be played at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on June 18, 21 and 24.
