Bengal’s captain Manoj Tiwari is surprised that his counterpart in the Delhi team Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer, has denied all his violent acts during the crucial Ranji Trophy match between Bengal and Delhi at Feroze Shah Kotla on Saturday.
According to allegations made by Bengal camp, the Delhi players including skipper, Gautam Gambhir were continuous sleazing the Bengal batsmen right from the beginning of the day when Bengal innings started. Bengal cricketers have also witnessed that Gambhir threw not only abusive languages towards the Bengal skipper Delhi skipper also pushed one of the umpires of the match, Valmik Bakh while initiating for the scuffle with Manoj at the time of his batting on Saturday. And pushing the umpire is a severe offense for anybody during the match. Bakh has reportedly submitted his report, mentioning all the happenings.
But Bengal cricketers are surprised that how Gambhir, in spite of the fact being the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the last couple of years and indirectly connected with the Bengal cricketers did do such a violent act with Manoj on the pitch?
Both the captains have been fined by match commissioner. Bengal captain speaking on the occasion over phone from Delhi on Saturday, said, “I am not only surprised with Gambhir’s denial, also shocked. I had respect for him as he was an Indian cricketer. But today, I simply cannot believe that he could show such vicious attitude.”
