Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s plea to leave for the rest of the Rajya Sabha’s ongoing session has been accepted by the RS chairman Hamid Ansari. This latest development comes a week after Sachinw as attacked for being absent from the house for majority of the session. Sachin later clarified that some medical emergencies made him to be out New Delhi for a while.

He told the media that he didn’t want to disrespect any institutions and regret his decision to skip the Rajya Sabha session. He even added that he wanted to be in Delhi once he came from England but there was a medical emergency in his family, certain things which he want to keep it private. But just to let the media and the furious politicians know, Sachin revealed that his elder brother Ajit had to undergo a bypass surgery and he had to be by his brother’s side.

CPM’s P Rajeeve had raised the issue of long-duration absence of Sachin as he wanted to know whether he had sought permission for which RS Vice-Chairman PJ Kurien came out and declared that Tendulkar did not violate any constitutional provisions with his long absence.

Kurien also added that Tendulkar was nominated to RS by Congress in April 2012 and has attended the session for just three days. The last time Sachin attended the RS is way back on December 13, 2013.
