Turkish giants Fenerbahce will make a serious offer for Arsenal’s most expensive player Mesut Ozil, according to the German World Cup winner’s agent.

Arsenal splashed their record transfer fee, £42.5 million for the German in 2013 to bring him to Emirates from Real Madrid.

Since joining Arsenal, he made 78 appearances for them and won FA Cup back to back two seasons.

Ozil’s parents are Turkish and he was quoted s saying in the Sabah newspaper in July: “In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan.”

And his agent, Erkut Sogut, told Takvim: “Fenerbahce are serious, but it all depends on what answer Arsenal give. It will all become clear at the end of the season.”

He added, according to the London Evening Standard: “At Arsenal, Mesut is very successful in his performances.

“It’s too early to talk right now. But you cannot know the conditions. Fenerbahce seems serious about Mesut.

“However, leaving Arsenal for Fenerbahce could be a serious choice for him. They are one of Turkey’s biggest clubs.”

Fenerbahce is nowadays signing big players, even this season they signed Robin van Persie and Nani from Manchester United and also Lazar Markovic on loan from Liverpool. With the ambition they possess, a move can be on the cards.
