Manchester United wonder-kid Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is set to leave on loan to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves), according to Manchester Evening News.
The 19-year old is tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer to seek first team football as part of his career’s progression. The young defender has shown his class when he was given chance by former manager Louis van Gaal.
However, new manager Jose Mourinho is building a team as he has already bought a number of stars in the club’s biggest spending spree which could hamper his opportunities to break into the first team.
The youngster signed a four-year contract in May as he featured 14 times in the senior squad last season and was named Under-21 Player of the Year.
Earlier in the summer, the 19-year old has reportedly held discussions with Manchester United hierarchy with both sides agreeing a loan deal would be best for the player’s future.
Mourinho have strong links with Championship club Wolves after his close friend and agent Jorge Mendes sold 20 percent of his company Gestifute to the club’s new Chinese owners.
A move to Wolves would ensure the youngster get much needed first team football as he will step up his progress in his development. He is currently featuring for Manchester United’s U-23 side.
