Leading journalist James Pearce expects Danny Ings to become a Liverpool player very soon. According to Pearce, Ings joining Liverpool is becoming more and more likely. James Pearce works with Liverpool Echo which is by far the most trusted website for Liverpool news.

Such a news from such a source clearly indicate how Liverpool have already started their next season’s preparations by eying Danny Ings to partner Daniel Sturridge up front. Ings has been in fine form for Burnley scoring 9 goals in 22 games.

Ings was very close to joining Liverpool in January but an agreement could not be reached between the two clubs. Add to that, Premier League’s rule of “not allowing a player to be sent immediately on loan to a Premier League side” hampered Ings’s move.

Pearce, who was speaking to Liverpool HQ backed Liverpool’s interest in the England striker and said:

“The interest is definitely genuine. A deal’s not done by any stretch of the imagination, but if I was a betting man I’d say it’s looking more and more likely that he will join in the summer.

“He would be available for £3 million, which for someone with his youth and talent would be a good piece of business by the club.”

Ings joining Liverpool would raise further question marks over the future of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambart and Fabio Borni’s future at the club. Liverpool have spent big on strikers in recent years but only Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have paid any significant return on their investments.

Liverpool would hope to tie up a deal with Ings without too much complications as the striker is also linked with Spanish side Real Sociadad. An offer to stay in England and play for one of the top sides in the league will definitely tempt Danny Ings to continue playing his football in the Premier League.
