According to Italian media outlet Gazetta Dello Sport, Juventus star defender Leonardo Bonucci has turned down a move to Manchester City.
The 29-year old has joined Juventus back in 2010 and have become a club legend forming a solid defence partnership with Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini both for the club and country.
The Juventus star has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United alongside Manchester City as the Premier League giants were keen to land the Italian international. Juventus are reportedly set to offer the defender a new contract.
City’s new boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of Bonucci as he is repeatedly linked with the defender and the Citizens were willing to double up his wages that he is currently earning with Italian champions. City were reportedly willing to offer a contract worth £6.8m-a-year.
Manchester City were also willing to meet Juventus’ evaluation of £50million as the club is desperate to sign a talented centre back before the start of the Premier League season next week.
But the defender have chosen to stay at Turin as he looks to accomplish Champions League glory with Juventus than Manchester City.
