Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata sends a message to angry Manchester United fans who are demanding to sack Louis Van Gaal. The spirits of Manchester United fans hit new low as United succumbed to lose when Southampton debutant Charlie Austin scored a late goal.
Juan Mata took the time to deliver the message to fans through his blog, where he urged to the fans to remain persistent on supporting the club, manager and players, for some more time. The home fans were furious at the end of the game, reprimanding Van Gaal as he walked down the tunnel.
The Spanish midfielder also revealed how hurt the team is, after a dispiriting defeat.
“After several games without being defeated, we lost to Southampton at home. It hurts, it really does”. Juan Mata penned down in his blog.
He consoled saying the team failed to get three points and stretch the good streak in 2016.
“It wasn’t a good game from any of the teams, a draw would have been a fair result. But a late goal from Austin took the points away from us”. He added.
“It was a tough moment, for you and for us. But we must get through this. We must show our attachment to the club and the manager.”
Manchester United are currently fifth in the Premier League, with five points separating them from fourth placed Tottenham Hotspurs. Apart from the lack of points, what frustrates the United fans are the lack of offensive gameplay from their team. United have scored only 28 goals in Premier League this season, the worst stat by a team in top 8 of the League table.
