Bayern boss Pep Guardiola has once again made the news. The 44-year-old manager who had formerly shown interest in taking over a London club has now indicated that he could possibly take one-year sabbatical.
Pep has only a year left on his contract at Allianz and was reportedly found to be looking for London clubs to manage. Chelsea and Arsenal were the top favorites for his choice. However, Manchester City had also considered Pep for being the successor to current gaffer Pellegrini, if he eyed an exit.
But the scene seems to have taken a turn now as Pep might take a year out from coaching. This could happen at the end of this season. Pep hasn’t confirmed about his decision of sabbatical. German giants are waiting for a final call from the boss so they could go on with their manager recruitment if he makes way from Bayern.
With Chelsea’s devastating form and Mourinho being targeted for a sacking procedure, it is likely that the London club would need a replacement for him and Pep seems to be the man who is most likely to fill up the managerial position.
So, if Pep doesn’t opt for a sabbatical, you could possibly see him managing the Blues. Or it could be a year off from the football world for Mr. Guardiola.
