Arsenal completed the signing of Mohamed Elneny on Thursday but now it has been revealed that Arsenal new boy had been working with Strength and conditioning coach Sam Wilson for 10 days. Elneny had to stay in Paris for more than a week after his deal was held up due to work permit issues and Elneny spent 10 days with Wilson to ensure he remained fit.

Arsenal were reported to have agreed on the fee and personal terms even before the transfer window opened but Work Permit issues made sure that Arsenal couldn’t officially confirm the signing till almost half of the transfer window was over. Arsenal probably had an idea that work permit issues would take some time to resolve and hence they sent strength and conditioning coach Wilson to make sure Elneny was fully fit. Elneny tanked Sam Wilson on his facebook page after the move was completed.

The objective behind this move seems to be that Wenger wanted to bring Elneny straight into the first team set up and that is why he wanted him to be in good condition even when he was not playing or training with FC Basel.

Arsenal first made contact with the midfielder 8 months ago before eventually signing him for a fee reportedly around £8 million but it is being claimed that the fee is much higher than what is being reported.

Wenger hopes Elneny will be successful for Arsenal and thinks that the Egyptian has “all the attributes to do well” while Giroud has hailed him as “complete player.” Elneny is available for the game against Stoke and in all likelihood he will be making a debut. Elneny has targeted winning the treble with Arsenal.
