India’s ace shooter and first individual Gold Medal winner for the nation in Olympics Abhinav Bindra made our country proud once again as he won yet another Bronze medal in the men’s 10 M Air Rifle event in the in the 17th Asian Games. Bindra shot a total of 187.1 in his 18 shots before elimination. China completed a double  as Haoron Yang (209.6) and Yifei Cao (208.9) settled for Gold and Silver respectively.

With this Bronze, Bindra is yet to win a Gold in his Asian Games career. With this Bronze, Bindra ended his professional career as he announced yesterday that this will be his last day of his career. Bindra earlier won a Bronze medal in the men’s 10 M Air Pistol event along with Ravi Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput

In the Qualification phase, Abhinav Bindra has qualified for  finals after finishing fifth with 625.4-4x points at Ongnyeon International Shooting Range. The qualification was dominated by the Chinese shooters as India’s Ravi Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput finished a lowly 20th and 21st place finish.

With this medal, India has now won one Gold and six Bronze medals in shooting.
