ICC World Cup 2019: Waqar Younis Questions India’s Sportsmanship After The Loss To England
Perhaps, for the first time, we came across Pakistan fans supporting the Indian National Cricket Team with their full voice. The win for India against England would have helped the chances of Pakistan to reach the semifinals. But, that wasn’t the case as India lost Englan. Meanwhile, Waqar Younis questions India’s Sportsmanship.
Pakistan has relied their hopes on the Indian team, who enjoyed great success in the tournament so far. They supported India to beat England, which would certainly make Pakistan way clear to head into Semifinals. Unfortunately, England got better off India, which didn’t go down well with Waqar Younis.
Sportsmanship of a few champions Tested – Waqar Younis
He questioned the sportsmanship of the Indian team and also quoted that the champion players of India have failed their Test in sportsmanship. Waqar Younis indirectly meant that the Indian team has lost the game intentionally.
Digging into his tweet, it read ”It’s not who you are.. What you do in life defines who you are.. Me not bothered if Pakistan gets to the semis or not but one thing is for sure.. Sportsmanship of few Champions got tested and they failed badly.”

As it happened:
Having a look at the details of the game, initially, it was Eoin Morgan, who won the toss, elected to bat first in a pressure game. Justifying the decision of the toss, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow showed their class by smashing Indian bowlers to all corners of the park before Ravindra Jadeja putting a sensational effort.
The wicket certainly pulled India back into the game as Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan walked back to the hut in quick succession. It was Mohammed Shami, who delivered the goods for the Indian team in the middle overs.
Despite the wickets, England never looked like stopping the attack in the final overs. Shami finished with a 5-wicket haul while Jasprit Bumrah was at his best in controlling the economy rate. For England, Ben Stokes played a stunning knock for the team cause.
In reply to the chase, India lost KL Rahul for a cheap score while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma showed their class in the middle. Though Virat Kohli missed converting his century, Sharma did it for the team once again. But, unfortunately, he failed to get a big one on his back.
In the end, Hardik Pandya tried his best but never got enough support from the other end. Liam Plunkett was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets while Chris Woakes bagged one wicket.
