The first day of the last Test in Dharamshala saw a huge disappointment in its debut. The first day of this Test saw approximately 2500 people only coming in to watch. The capacity of the ground is 22,000. On the other, the other debutant Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav impressed everyone with his bowling. The young man got David Warner as his first Test wicket.
On the second day, a Sunday, Ground staff expected a good enough crowd to turn up because of the holiday. and they got it right. According to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Spokesperson, Sanjay Sharma, they had fulfilled half the stadium on Sunday. The reason for good turnout was attributed, first to Sunday and then it was India who were batting on day 2. Sanjay Sharma claimed this attendance to be as good an ODI game.
“The Sunday crowd is challenging what we have seen in the three ODIs we have seen here at this venue. We have been able to fulfill the half of the stadium today with 10,000 plus crowd.”
This Test match was nicely poised at the end of day two. This Test match is going to decide who the winner of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But if it remains a draw then Australia will retain the trophy as they are the defending champions.
