With the cricket experts expecting the World Cup 2015 semi-final clash between India and Australia a nail-biting one, the reports in TOI suggest that bookies are certain that Australia will defeat India in the much anticipated clash at SCG.

Australians are hot favourites to win the contest with bookies offering @1.40 (2/5) on the co-hosts while India are pegged at @3.00 (2/1) (two rupees for a rupee).

As for the trophy itself, Australia are clear favourites to win it. Bookies are offering @1.4 for the co-hosts winning again. South Africa were the second favourites at @3.25 and New Zealand are next favourites for the championship at @4.1 while and India are last among the four semi-finalists at @5.1

Due to illegal nature of transactions in the country, Indian bookies only accept bets for win or loss or for ‘session’ bets in a given match. Session bets are accepted for predictions on possible runs scored in a session of 10 overs each with a margin of 15 to 20 runs more or less.

The English markets say Australian opener David Warner is most likely to be Man of the Match in the semi-final with odds offered at @9.5 (17/2) while from the Indian side, Virat Kohli is most likely to be the standout player at @11 (10/1).

According to sources, more than Rs 5000 crore is being wagered on the two semi-finals.
