Martin Crowe, the former New Zealand captain labeled Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steven Smith and Kane Williamson as the new “fabulous four” of Test Cricket. Crowe praised them. He has seen the future captain of their respective team in Williamson from New Zealand, Kohli from India, Root from England, and Smith from Australia. He expressed his view about this four cricketer in a recent article of a renowned website, and his words were such that “Prior to hitting peak period for a Test batsman, between age 24 and 32, the young player will go through teething problems, highs and lows, swings of fortune, before shooting for the stars. If he is destined, he will learn quickly and climb the ladder to become the best of his time”. According to him all of them faced utmost failure in their career but they have the urge to go on to be the best.
Pointing toward Virat’s career he said that he started as a One Day International batsman, later he made his debut in test. He scored his first century in Adelaide in his 14th innings, he showed genuine Test class, going on to nail four more hundreds in the next 13 innings. He also added that he became the heir evident to Sachin Tendulkar. In his last ten innings he did not click. Martin said that Kohli had found the late-swinging ball in England to be his combatant.
According to Martin, all of these four shown some weakness at some point but they also recovered it as well, with a permanent batting position locked down being the key. These four cricketers are having same type of urge, talent, aspiration and responsibility. Martin also predicted that these four cricketer will become the future captain of respective countries. After some year these four batsman will reach the peak form of their career, and then we will come to know who snatch the 1st position.
