Jose Mourinho has lived up to his tag of being the Special One as the Chelsea manager mocked his top-4 rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City in style.
Mourinho was adamant that, his players have not got the respect they deserve from day one of the season to the last. Mourinho brought the house down with a mock presentation where he highlighted the shortcomings of United, Arsenal and City this season.
Mourinho started with his former mentor Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United, who he called out as the team playing in red. Much was made of Van Gaal’s rant of being the better team against Chelsea and they were unlucky to lose the match 1-0 against Mourinho’s Chelsea.
Taking that as reference, Mourinho said: ‘This is a game with two goals, but there is one team that like to play without the ball.
‘That team plays really well and the ball goes and goes and goes and the quality of the ball possession is good, but they don’t score. No points.
‘They asked the FIFA committee if they can win like this but they’re told it’s not possible. That the bigger possession is not essential to win matches and they are not champions.’
Ouch … that was brutal by Mourinho, but that was not all, next up was Man City’s turn to suffer the wrath of Jose Mourinho.
Turning the heat on Manuel Pellegrini, Jose Mourinho said: “After that there was another team [wearing sky blue shirts] that were less radical and they asked to play only with one goal.
“They were fantastic, scored a lot of goals and the goals were coming from every position and they score and they score and they score, but they never conceded goals, because no goal.
“Again, the international board told them, ‘I’m sorry, you can’t be champions because football is with two goals’.
After the Manchester boys, it was time for Mourinho’s beloved Arsene Wenger. Arsenal manager has been suffering from Mourinho syndrome for last 5-6 seasons after failing to beat the blues in 13 attempts.
Despite all of that, Mourinho did not take easy on the Frenchman and said: ‘There is a third team, and the third team wants to play with two goals,’
‘They were scoring some, they were also conceding some. But they score really beautiful goals and then the bus comes along and they couldn’t do it.’
So after highlighting all the shortcomings of the other teams, Mourinho decided to tell the secret of how to win the league playing the proper way. He singled out his side’s performance as the standout way of winning title.
Mourinho said: “And finally there is a team. They wanted to play with the normal rules and they know that in matches they have to score one more goal than the opponent.
‘How can you do this? By scoring lots of goals, by not conceding and scoring one.’
Mourinho has already fired up the rivalry for next season to a whole new level. We can expect Van Gaal, Wenger and Pellegrini to come out firing at Mourinho from week 1 of next season.
I am already getting excited for the next season of Premier League, which promises to be better than ever.
