Manchester United are considering a £15million offer for PSG defender Marquinhos before the transfer window closes this summer, according to a report from The Sun.
But United will face a stiff challenge from Chelsea as Antonio Conte already included the Brazilian centre-back in his wishlist.
La Liga giants Barcelona also tried to tempt away the Brazilian centre-back from Paris for the last 3-4 transfer windows but didn’t succeed.
Barcelona have long been credited with an interest in snapping up the Brazil international and are allegedly keen to lure him to Camp Nou as they continue to rebuild their defence.
The Catalans have already added Lucas Digne and Samuel Umtiti during the close season and are thought to have earmarked Maquinhos as their next transfer target.
Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his defensive line as he is looking for a physical defender who can give the United back-four a much-needed solidity.
And it is claimed United have contacted PSG about a possible deal for centre-back Marquinhos.
The Brazilian has somewhat fallen down the pecking order last season and hoping to move on for regular first-team football.
However, a few days back Marquinhos himself insisted that he is not going to leave PSG this summer despite being linked with moving to a club that could guarantee him to play in centre-back position.
“I am not going to move from PSG this summer, they don’t want to sell me”, the Brazil International told Spanish paper Sport.
“I spoke to my new boss Unai Emery and new DS Patrick Kluivert and they showed they trust me and that they want me to stay, Leaving a club like PSG is nothing easy.”
