Manchester United play hosts to neighbours Manchester City on Tuesday in what promises to be an absolute belter of a clash between the two fierce rivals at Old Trafford. A heated derby awaits us as both teams will go all out to win in a no holds barred clash. David Moyes is already looking forward to the challenge and the Manchester United manager has already said that his side would relish on taking on title contenders City in front of the vociferous home faithful.  Manuel Pellegrini however knows his side can ill afford to drop any points in midweek in their quest for the Premier League Title.

United come into this encounter after a two nil win over West Ham in the weekend thanks to wayne Rooney’s brilliance. The 28 year old opened the scoring with a sublime long range lob from the half line, a brilliant strike that was reminiscent of David Beckham’s similar goal for the Red Devils against Wimbeldon in 1996. The Citizens too are in imperious form as Pellegrini’s free flowing side helped themselves to a 5-0 thumping of bottom placed and relegation threatened Fulham in the weekend.

Team news: Micheal Carrick played in right back in the weekend but the Englishman is expected to return in midfield as Serbian Nemanja Vidic makes his return in the heart of the defense after serving a suspension, thanks to the red card he picked up against Liverpool. Robin Van Persie will be missing for the hosts with an ankle injury while Antonio Valencia faces a late fitness test for the clash. David Moyes however has a big decision to make, to pair up Japanese Shinji Kagawa with Spnaird Juan Mata or go with two strikers in Rooney and Welbeck up front.

For the Citizens though, captain Vincent Kompany returns after completing a sit out on the stands thanks to a suspension. Sergio Aguero though is sidelined while defender Matija Nastasic also is unavailable at the back meaning Martin Demichelis will start in the heart of the defense.

What to expect from the match: City will start as definite favourites and they can hardly put their feet off the pedal. With the midfield running like a well oiled machine Pellegrini can expect that his midfield generals in Yaya Toure and Fernandinho can run forays in the United back four. Moyes however might fancy his chances if United can produce one of their great nights like they did against Olympiakos last week.
