WWE TLC 2016: Full Match Card, Preview And Prediction
Dec 3, 2016 at 5:27 PM
Starting in the year 2009, WWE TLC will be seeing its eighth edition, this year. The Smackdown brand exclusive PPV will be hosted by the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, tonight. Although, mostly the old rivalries will look to settle scores in the PPV, the match card looks solid. Almost all the matches will be contested under special stipulations making it one of the most anticipated nights of the year. The night will also give indications about the near future and what’s in store for Royal Rumble. So, here’s what we can expect from the match card.
Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto (Chairs match)
This one is literally a David vs. Goliath contest. With the chairs stipulation tagged with it, the chances of Corbin have even got bigger. In general thoughts, Corbin will destroy the masked Luchador with the steel toys. But, in reality, we could see this feud to get stretched since there are not enough opponents stored on Smackdown for the Lone Wolf. Hence, Kalisto will pull off a shocking win.
Prediction: Kalisto comes out with a shocking win to stretch the rivalry
The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental championship ladder match)
One of the best rivalries of the year 2016 will come to an end with this one final bout with no rematch whatsoever after TLC. But, the stipulation will play a pivotal role here. In a ladder match, anything goes and hence Maryse or the Spirit Squad will interfere whenever they want. Ziggler will try whatever he can to stop the combined forces to deliver a 5-star match again. But, Maryse will be the ultimate difference maker, once again. Hence, The Miz will be continuing with his reunion tour.
Prediction: The Miz retains IC title via interference from Maryse & Spirit Squad
Slater-Rhyno vs. Orton-Wyatt (Tag team championship)
The New Wyatt family was introduced to the number one contender’s contest due to irrelevance championship reign of Slater and Rhyno. It’s now time for them to drop the title to somebody better deserving i.e. the tea of randy Orton and Wyatt. We will show a dominant performance from the new Wyatts and they will pick up the title to put some prestige back onto it.
Prediction: Orton-Wyatt become new tag team champions
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella (No Disqualification contest)
This women’s beef has been stretched far than thought. Hopefully, the much-anticipated contest is finally going to be the end of the feud. The No DQ rule will be providing more mean tricks to Carmella who will be punishing Nikki throughout the match with the help of it. Although a win over Nikki will give Carmella a momentum, she does not need it, at this momentum. But, Nikki is the veteran and it’s time for her to enter into the title picture now that Wrestlemania season is approaching. So, we are going with Nikki in this bout at TLC.
Prediction: Nikki Bella wins this one after digesting a lot of punishment
Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss (Women’s championship-tables match)
The feud has been pretty interesting so far but mostly courtesy of Alexa Bliss. The wannabe Harley Quinn is so good at her heelish antics whereas Becky has not delivered big yet despite getting lot of support from the crowd. We would have loved to see Bliss as the next Women’s champion but the creative would not take the risk probably. So, after all, the resistance Bliss will have to give up against the straight fired Becky. So, Bliss would go through the tables at TLC.
Prediction: Becky Lynch retains her title at TLC
Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles (WWE World Championship TLC match)
We have got at least couple of reasons to get excited about this match. First of all, the match itself is going to be 5-star one between these two incredible talents. The already enough stretched feud is finally going to end and thirdly, heel Ambrose is going to return after the match. Since this is a TLC match, Ellsworth is bound to make his presence felt at some point. However, things will backfire as it will somehow cost Ambrose the match up. After AJ walks out as the champion, Ambrose will rip apart Ellsworth to become a villain, after a long time.
Prediction: AJ Styles wins and a heel Ambrose returns
