Imran Tahir praised his wife Sumayya Dildar for supporting him during his difficult times when he was not able to make build his place in Pakistan.

“Leaving Pakistan was a difficult decision but most of the credit for playing for South Africa goes to my wife,” he further mentioned.

Imran Tahir learned cricket from his birthplace and played for Pakistan U-19 and Pakistan A side but failed to get his place in the national cricket team. Then the spinner started playing county cricket and from there he switched his base to South Africa, debuting in 2011. He has, so far, played 107 ODIs, 38 T20Is and 20 Tests for them.

The leg spinner last played for the Proteas in World Cup 2019 since then, he has not featured for the team. Currently, he is enjoying the break at his home. He might make himself available for the Indian Premier League(IPL) later this year scheduled in UAE.
