Former Australian speedster Brett Lee has opined that RCB skipper Virat Kohli should play without any pressure whatsoever for the team to be successful. Virat Kohli is going to lead his side during the 13th edition of the IPL which is scheduled to be played from September 19 to November 10. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The tournament was originally scheduled to kick off from March 29 was postponed indefinitely after April 15 due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the nation.

BCCI had earlier this week sent the teams a 16 page long SOP (Scheduled Operation Procedures) to follow before and during the tournament. The teams have started quarantining their players and will leave for UAE after 20th of August.

Take All The Pressure Off Himself As A Captain And Player: Brett Lee

The pacer wants Virat Kohli to go on the field and play his game without any pressure, and not try to carry the failures of others. He also said the squad should help in easing the pressure from Kohli’s shoulders.

“I just want Kohli to go out there and enjoy his cricket, take all the pressure off himself as a captain and player,” Lee said in the latest episode of Star Sports’ Cricket Connected chat show.

“Because he is so good at that level, I think sometimes with all the pressure going around in the team, people are failing, he tries to get all the players on his back and tries to carry them,” Lee further explained. “All the RCB squad should help out in taking all the pressure off Kohli.”

Aaron Finch can become the guy who can hold it all together for RCB: Sanjay Manjrekar

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar sees Aaron Finch as a very good signing by RCB who he feels can be the key for the coherence of the team.

“Aaron Finch is the guy whom I hope can give them a little bit of steadiness. They have a lot of class, flash and brilliance and then Aaron Finch can become the guy who can hold it all together,” Manjrekar.

In 177 matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise, Virat Kohli has scored 5412 runs, including five centuries. He has been loyal to his side through thick and thin in their 13-year journey in the IPL.

RCB have reached the final thrice, under three different captains but the IPL title has never got in their hands. The IPL 2020 has an ‘in principle’ approval from the Government of India to the BCCI to host it in the UAE.
