Roger Federer, the Tennis legend, the man with the most no. of grand slams (17) was asked to exit the Australian Open of this year as he lost in the mere third round of the tournament to Italian Andreas Seppi.

Seppi in the earlier meetings agains Federrer, i.e. 10 times had won only a single set and today we won 3 more to defy the odds and sent Federrer packing.  He won the first set 6-4 which people thought was sheer luck but he continued to keep momentum and won the second set via tie breaker to make it 2-0 with just one set to win. We all know, the game of Tennis is never over until it is over. Federrer showed signs of coming back with great determination and he won the third set giving the fans a hope of winning the next two to proceed to the next stage. Federrer is a champion when it comes to chasing down by 2-0 to win the match. However, that wasn’t the case this time around. He lost the 4th set in which he battled and fought really hard to save it but it was just Seppi’s day.

Andreas Seppi stunned Federrer and the crowd went absolutely shell shocked as the World No.2 made an early exit from the tournament. The loss also means that there would be no Federrer-Nadal clash this time around. It will be interesting to see what days are ahead for Andreas Seppi and will he be able to upset another big player?
