Having won the toss and deciding to bat first, Team Rest of the World got off to a flying start with Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag setting off in their usual explosive fashion. With just 6 overs gone, the ROW team were already 50 for no loss and not looking to slow down anytime soon.

But Brett Lee had some other plans as he knocked out the middle stump with a trademark in-swinging delivery to send Virender Sehwag packing back to the pavilion. Adam Gilchrist was soon dismissed too with Saeed Ajmal deciding to sprinkle his portion of magic on the match.

Saeed Ajmal continued his mesmerizing display of bowling by sending Tamim Iqbal, Kevin Pieterson and Shahid Afridi back in quick succession to live the ROW team faltering at 68 at the loss of 5 wickets.

Yuvraj Singh then laid down his stamp on the match and along with Paul Collingwood steered the innings back on track with a 131-run partnership. After the loss of Paul Collingwood’s wicket it was the Yuvi magic that set the show up completing his century enroute to a well deserved 132-run knock.

The crowd had a lot to cheer in the first half of this Legends vs Legends match with Sachin Tendulkar himself turning his arm for a small spell of 4-overs which also saw him take the wicket of Yuvraj Singh in the penultimate over.

The target for Team Sachin A.K.A MCC is 294 in 50-overs and the much anticipated prospect of watching Shane Warne vs Sachin Tendulkar is hopefully fulfilled in the 2nd half of the match.
