According to some latest reports a member of the Arsenal squad has asked for the club to sanction his departure before the summer transfer window closes.
The Gunners are set to have a busy final week in the transfer window with fans demanding the signing of new players to strengthen a depleted team.
Arsene Wenger has already revealed that he is still working on at least one new signing after Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Leicester City.
However, the Arsenal manager, who offloaded Joel Campbell on a season-long loan earlier this week, could be set to approve the departure of another senior member of his squad.
According to Get France Football News, Mathieu Debuchy has informed Arsenal that he wants to find a new club before the transfer window closes in less than eight days.
The 31-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bordeaux, is reportedly eager to secure another move after being omitted from the 18-man squad which traveled to Leicester.
Debuchy signed for Arsenal from Newcastle only two years ago following the exit of Bacary Sagna. But the emergence of youngster Hector Bellerin has seen him lose his place in Wenger’s starting eleven.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to announce the signing of Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna and are reportedly close to bringing in German defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
The Gunners’ 27-year-old attacking target, known commonly as Lucas, has emerged as a top target for Arsene Wenger as he looks to add to his ranks before the transfer window closes next week.
A deal for Mustafi has been mooted for weeks, and according to BBC Sport, an agreement between Arsenal and Valencia is not far away, with the price for the 24-year-old Germany centre-back reported to be in excess of £35million.
