Wrestler Sushil Kumar has expressed confidence that the government Target Olympic Podium scheme will fetch more medals for the country at the 2016 Rio Olympics than earlier games. TOP Scheme will increase the medals tally at the Olympics. It is pitty that such a big country like India wins 4-5 medals.
Sushil Kumar won the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London. More facilities provided under TOP scheme should be made available to the players to raise the medal hopes.
The government has picked 45 sportspersons including Kumar under the TOP scheme for the Rio Olympics. They will be provided with financial and other assistance for preparations. In the 2012 Olympics India won 6 medals which is the best performance by the Indian at any Olympics.
These 45 sportspersons from India need to get the best possible facilities so that they can train hard and bring medals for the country. This time India has a chance in Badminton, Hockey, and Shooting. By giving right facilities the Indian athletes can do wonders and do their best to win medals.
Olympics is the biggest stage. Sushil Kumar won the silver medal in 2012 and is hoping to better the performance by bringing gold medal.
