WWE News: Major Update Why WWE Removed Sasha Banks From Money In The Bank
Spoilers were out for women’s Money in the Bank ladder match much earlier that includes the name of Sasha Banks. Despite being gone from the company, we expected her to see in this upcoming opportunistic match as WWE officials wanted her for this. However, that’s not the case the full lineup is out excluding the former the four-time WWE Raw women’s champion.
Reports are now out suggesting why Sasha Banks will not be competing at women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and who’s replaced her at the last moment? Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that it was Dana Brooke who took the spot of The Boss. She was indeed a surprise entrant for this year’s edition which also features the names of will feature names of Natalya, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Mandy Rose, Bayley, Carmella, and Ember Moon.
The obvious reason for WWE not including Sasha Banks into Money in the Bank ladder match is her absence from Monday Night Raw. WWE officials urged her to come back and even tried to please her by letting win the future title opportunity. But it is not happening since she has granted her release from the company and might have not intended to show up at work, at all.
There’s no word yet on whether WWE will grant her release, but it doesn’t look like. The Observer noted that Vince McMahon is extremely cautious to release superstars especially those who can be helpful for All Elite Wrestling. He is trying hard to keep superstars whose contract is up for grabs with huge money deals just to keep them away from AEW. Sasha Banks is one of them and may not get the requested release, at all.
Her contract is already intact with the WWE for the next few years and her wrestling career will be in big trouble if the company freezes her contract someday. We should note that Sasha Banks was not happy over WWE’s decision to put the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on The IIconics at Wrestlemania 35. From then onwards, she started attending WWE shows requesting her release.
Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas discussed the matter with Boston Wrestling MWF mentioning that Sasha Banks has done a big mistake,
“WWE doesn’t need Sasha Banks; Sasha Banks needs WWE, “and Banks will find herself going “lower and lower on the totem pole” without the backing of WWE. He also believes that “every woman in the WWE celebrated” when word got around that she wants to quit because it opens up an opportunity for them. (H/T: WrestlingInc)
