IPL 2019: Danielle Wyatt Excited As Sunrisers Hyderabad Retains Shreevats Goswami
England women’s cricketer Danielle Wyatt expressed his excitement as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) retained wicket-keeper batsman Shreevats Goswami for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
With the new season a few months away, the franchises have started to settle their team before the auctions. And ahead of the draw, Hyderabad have retained 17 players including three players via trade.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad displayed a spirited effort in the last season despite missing their regular skipper David Warner. The southpaw missed the whole league due to a suspension for his part in the ball-tampering saga. Kane Williamson slotted in the captain’s role and did an excellent job with the side. However, they have retained the devastating Australian opener for the upcoming season.
Furthermore, Sunrisers Hyderabad have released nine players including the trade-off of Shikhar Dhawan to Delhi Daredevils. While Wriddhiman Saha is a big name to let go off by the franchise, the think tank also decided to release some famous overseas players in Alex Hales, Carlos Brathwaite, and Chris Jordan.
Interestingly, they have retained Bengal wicket-keeper Shreevats Goswami. The southpaw slotted in after Wriddhiman Saha aggravated his finger injury, thus ruling him out of the tournament. Goswami impressed with his glovework and can score quick runs at the top.
Following the announcement, Goswami took to Twitter to express his excitement. He also admitted that he is looking forward to the upcoming season.
“Looking forward to another season with the @SunRisers
#orangearmy #onebigfamily,” the post read.
