ipl 2016 champions

IPL 2016 came to a dramatic end as the Sunrisers Hyderabad won the final in some style. After the Royal Challengers Bangalore seemed to be well on course to finish the game with ease, skipper Virat Kohli was castled by pacer Barinder Sran. Post Kohli’s wicket, the Royal Challengers batsmen were guilty of committing hara-kiri as the chase went nowhere. The Sunrisers bowlers though deserve a mention for their fantastic show during the latter overs of the chase.

Post their win by 8 runs, individuals in the Sunrisers camp were simply delighted. Ben Cutting was named the Man of the Match for his perfect all round show and he said, “It was exciting to play in front of such a big crowd. It was nice to get a few out of the middle tonight. Bhuvi was fantastic for us throughout with the purple cap and to finish it off in that way was good. That’s the beautiful thing about Bangalore. You can go the distance as batsman and the bowler as well.”

Quite a few awards were handed out post the game, and below is a list of those awards:

Best fielder of the tournament: AB De Villiers
